Finished: Kitten in watercolour - Klaar: kitten in Aquarel

I finished the watercolour painting of the kitten. I used a mixed combination of wet-in-wet and dry-on-dry technique. First making tthe background, with some pastel colours, where I wettened the page and used this to let the colours blend in. Also I used a toothbrush to apply little dots of paints on spots where I'd like it. This to give the background a more playfull image. I later ( when the paint is dry) started to work on the kitten, here I mostly used wet-on-dry for her face and more wet-on-wet for its body.
I used masking fluid for the whiskers and the white hairs in the ear. Paper: Fabriano 27x38 cm ; 300grs coldpressed.

Dit is dan het aquarel van de kitten, nadat het klaar is. Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van verschillende technieken:
nm.: nat-op-nat en nat-op-droog. Als eerste werkte ik aan de achtergrond, het papier nat te hebben gemaakt en de kitten uitgespaard. Vervolgens gebruikte ik enkele lichte kleuren, welke ik in elkaar over liet lopen. Op sommige plaatsen heb ik spikkels gemaakt, gebruikmaken van een tandenborstel.
Zo kreeg de achtergrond een meer speelse aanzien. Vervolgens werkte ik aan de kop, hier vooral met droog- op- droog geschilderd. Voor de romp heb ik in de tinten van de kop weer nat- op - nat gewerkt.
De Snorharen en de haren in de oren zijn vooraf met maskeer vloeistof bedekt, zodat deze mooi wit bleven.
Papier: Fabriano coldpressed, 300grs. Afmeting: 27x 38 cm.

Working on - Huidig project

I'm working on this aquarel of a kitten, when it is done it will be probably be auctioned for a catchelter in northen of Holland.

Mijn huidig project is dit kitten, wanneer het klaar is zal ik het waarschijnlijk mee laten doen met een veiling voor een katschelter in Noord Holland.

En Plein Air Last Tuesday - Buiten schilderen afgelopen dinsdag

Afgelopen dinsdag was het een geweldig mooie dag, we zijn dan ook met onze 'En plein Air' groep naar buiten getrokken om te schilderen. Dit keer was de Oostkerk in Middelburg aan de beurt . Een hele mooie kerk met zijn rondingen en torentjes, maar wel erg moeilijk qua perspectief. Ik heb it aquarel thuis afgemaakt, en zie hier het resultaat:

Last tuesday is was a splendid nice day, beautiful weather made us go outside with our  'En plein Air" group: this time we went to : the easter church of Middelburg. A very beautiful church with its round towers. But so very difficult in architecture and perspective to draw. I finished the painting at home :

Maybe my new puppy.... Wellicht mijn nieuw puppie?

Deze week gaan we bij een nestje jonge puppies kijken, en misschien wordt dit lief klein schattig
Puppie wel mijn huisgenootje. Ik volg het nestje nu al soms op de webcam, zo leuk is dat om te zien hoe ze met haar zusjes speelt en slaapt en bij haar moeder drinkt.
This week we are going to watch at a few young puppies and maybe this young cute little one is going to be our next doggie that will be going to stay at our house. I'm following her now and then on the webcam where she plays with her three other sisters and also sleeps ans drinks from her mother.

Tulpen/ Tulips

                              

Ik besloot om de gezellige tulpen te schilderen van de site A nos Pinceaux, gewoon omdat ik tulpen mooi vind en echt bij deze tijd van het jaar vind horen.

                              

I decided to paint these beautifull tulips which I found on the site of A nos Pinceaux , just because I like tulips very much and they realy belong to this season. Also I found it a good practise.

Portret of Jean Connery

Today I finished a portet of Jean Connery with graphite on Fabriano 200grs, it was fun to do.

Little Snowclocks/ Sneeuwklokjes

Hoe leuk was het om de sneeuwklokjes boven de grond te zien komen in mijn tuin, je wordt zo vrolijk van dit eerste lenteteken toch? Het zonnetje deed zijn uiterste best om al een beetje warmte te stralen en het zag er allemaal al zo vrolijk uit met de vogeltjes die af en aan fladderden. Reden voor mij om dit prille lentegeluk op papier te proberen te krijgen.

How nice it always look when those litle snowflowers try to get their heads above the ground isn't it? Even when today the sun was trying to warm my backyard with her weak sunrays. It all looked so much more merryer. Also the birds were flying around to gather seeds and branches. It was a good reason for me to try and get this springhappiness on a piece of paper.

Bend over - Voorover gebogen

After having drawn some models with pencil on paper I now have tried to paint one with water colour on fabriano 300 grs paper. It was a lot of fun to do. Offcourse it was so totally different then with graphite, but I loved the way how the colours flowed in eachother to create the special dreamy atmosphere. I am thinking of making a series of these models.....

Nadat ik enige tijd geoefend heb om modellen te tekenen met potlood, waagde ik me nu aan het schilderen van een model met aquarel. Ik moet zeggen dan dit me best goed bevallen is. Het was zeker totaal verschillend en ik moest zeker wennen aan het mengen van de juiste kleuren en het laten invloeien van de verschillende kleurtinten, maar toen ik dat langzaam begon door te krijgen kreeg ik plezier in het dromerige resultaat, wat ik zeker mooi bij een dergelijk schilderij vind passen.
Misschien een idee om een serie te schilderen..... Zeker een leuke oefening.

Vrolijke Pinguins / Happy Pinguins

Today I finished this painting of the Happy Disco Pinguins, which I painted on Fabriano 300 grs fine grain 35x 50 cm.

Vandaag legde ik de laatste hand aan dit schilderij: De Vrolijke Disco Pinguins, geschilderd op Fabriano 300 grs fijne korrel, 35 x50 cm.
